Research
My PhD and Postdoctoral research has been geared towards application of computer simulations and quantum mechanics to understand atomic scale phenomena in nanomaterials. The recent advances in theoretical models along with the increased computational resources now allow us to predict several key properties of materials from first-principles. This predictive capability is promising to transform the materials design paradigm from the current trial-and-error experiments to that of the computer-aided design of new materials with targeted properties. I have co-authored over 35 journal publications cited in over 600 publications (excluding self-citations), 6 conference proceedings, 2 book chapters, and have also delivered 10 talks at international conferences.
